Pyrite is an iron sulfide mineral with a yellow metallic luster. It is also known as “Fool’s Gold”. The name pyrite comes from the Greek word pyr meaning fire. It is found all over the world, but commonly in Canada, Mexico, Namibia, Peru, Russia and Spain.
Pyrite is good for health. Holding a Pyrite in each hand during meditation can bring an instant rebalancing and refreshing burst of energy. It has long been valued as a strong protection stone that shields the wearer from negative energy as well as environmental pollutants.
